Young Adults and Parents: We Need Your Help!

The school year is rapidly approaching, and with it comes a surge of students into our ministry. More than any other time we are in need of volunteers to help us connect with as many students as possible, in a variety of ways. If you or someone you know is interested in getting plugged in to our student ministry, please read on for details.

We have had an incredible summer, and our students are growing spiritually and numerically.  We are expecting our largest attendance numbers ever when the new school year arrives later this month.  It is our desire for each of our 400-500 students on a Sunday morning to connect with someone while they are here, which is just not possible without MANY volunteers with smiling faces helping us out.  Beyond that, we have plenty of ways for people interested in serving God by serving our youth:

Sunday Mornings // Crowded House
Come greet students, talk with new parents, and build meaningful relationships.  We also need help with some logistics for the service (offering, head count, crowd control, etc.)

Wednesday Nights // Shift Senior High Bible Study
We expect to have close to 100 students gathering weekly to worship, get into the word, and fellowship with one another each week.  We need volunteers to help lead when we break into discussion groups.

Prayer Team
It is our desire to see parents and young adults gather weekly to pray for the needs of our students and staff.  We would love a volunteer to coordinate this effort.

Discipleship Group Leaders
(Small Groups)
We expect a record number of students to be interested in small groups, which meet weekly at a time and location of the leader’s choosing to discuss what the students have been learning from personal and large-group study.  This might be our most pressing need, and we are really counting on a large number of servant-minded folks stepping up to build meaningful relationships with a small group of hungry students.

Trips & Retreats
As usual, there is always an open invite to parents and young adults who are interested in coming along to our various retreats and missions trips throughout the year.  For people who feel intimidated because they don’t know any students in our ministry, a trip is the fast-track to having dozens of kids running at you shouting your name in excitement every time you step foot in the youth area.
