Benefiting Student Missions at The Woodlands United Methodist Church
The Student Missions Ministry provides incredible opportunities for students in grades 7 through 12 to go into our world and make a difference for Jesus Christ. Students learn more about themselves and others while deepening their relationship with the Lord. This ministry not only impacts our youth, but also has a positive role in the lives of the people we are able to serve.

Where do the proceeds go?
The funds raised at this event create local missions opportunities and make global mission trips affordable for students.  The entire annual student missions budget comes from your generosity.

Spending afternoons with children at a local apartment complex, taking weekend service trips to inner city Houston, and visiting elderly to share the love of Jesus are just a few of the local missions funded by CSM.  Our student ministry also takes trips around Texas and the globe.  This past year, with your support, our students had the opportunity to serve in Arlington, Waco, and San Antonio, Texas, as well as Guatemala.  In March of 2012, we will be sending a team of high school students to Prague.

This event also supports our local student outreach.  We use money from golf and auction to pay for things such as posters, flyers, football tailgates, and any event with the purpose of making new students feel comfortable in the Rebelbase family.  Additionally, Rebelbase never turns a student away from a trip or event because of financial hardship.  The student missions budget offers partial and full scholarships to any student in need.

What does the event look like?
Sunday, 8am - 6:30pm Silent Auction in Main Building Gym
Members of the congregation and guests are invited to walk through the silent auction and check out the baskets to bid on.  Church members, local businesses, and friends of student missions fill these baskets with desirable items that have been graciously donated.  The auction is open throughout the morning, during and between church services.  Bidding closes at the Live Auction Dinner on Sunday evening.

Sunday 5:30 pm Celebration of Student Missions Dinner in Wesley Hall
The Celebration of Student Missions Dinner will be a time to honor what God is doing through our students.  Students will share testimonies and be recognized for their commitment to missions.  The evening will also include entertainment, an exciting live auction, and a delicious Barbecue meal prepared by Jay and Nancy Barrow and served by students.  Parents especially will not want to miss this event.  Dinner tickets may be purchased in advance in the Student Ministry Offices or online for $10.  Limited tickets will be available at the door.  This year, you may reserve a table for 8 at a discounted price of $65.  Buy Tickets for the Celebration of Student Missions Dinner Here

Monday, 12:30pm Golf Tournament at The Woodlands Panther Trails Course
For your convenience, we will be playing golf right here in The Woodlands.  Panther Trails offers a sensational experience for golfers of all skill levels.  The tournament will be a scramble format with a 1:30 shotgun start.  There will be contests and plenty of prizes!  Come golf with us and invite your friends for a foursome.

How can I get involved?
Your contribution and participation in this event will help change the lives of many students and allow them to bring the love of Christ to others around the world.  Here are some ways that you can support student missions this year:

1.  Donate an item or basket for the silent auction or live auction dinner.
Think about giving desirable new products, free services, or gift certificates. Other items might include gift baskets, travel vouchers, or use of vacation properties. Be creative!
